The century-old Town of Ross is a small, elegant community of stately homes, gated estates and serene tree-lined streets. Nestled between Kentfield to the east and San Anselmo to the north and west, Ross has approximately 2,300 residents and just a handful of shops.

The Ross School, the elementary school located at the heart of the community, adjacent to Ross Common, has a tremendous reputation for the quality of the education it provides. Also in Ross is the highly-regarded Branson School, a private co-ed high school situated on a hillside above town.

Three particular points of interest in Ross are the Marin Art & Garden Center, the Barn Theatre and the open space area of Phoenix Lake. The MAGC is a magical place to visit or attend events, with its spectacular flora, lush lawns, and majestic trees. Just above the MAGC is the Barn Theatre, home to the Ross Valley Players, reputed to be the oldest community theater group west of the Rockies. Phoenix Lake, on the opposite side of Ross, offers a variety of hiking and biking trails, and lovely picnic spots, making it a popular destination for many Marin residents.
