Greenbrae, a now-bustling central Marin community and the gateway to the lush Ross Valley, borders Larkspur to the south, Kentfield and Ross to the west, Larkspur Landing to the east, and San Rafael to the north.

Initially dubbed "Kentmore," Greenbrae was developed in the late 1940s from 635 acres of farmland purchased from the Archdiocese of San Francisco by the family-owned Schultz Building Company. Designed with a combination of custom homes and spacious apartments and condos set into the rolling hills, Greenbrae offers its residents tree-lined streets, open spaces, and views ranging from the Bay, to Corte Madera Creek and Mt. Tamalpais.

Greenbrae is also a much desired address for many families due to its award-winning public schools, Bacich Elementary and Kent Middle School, in addition to the well-known and esteemed private high school, Marin Catholic. The recently renovated Creekside Park, just behind Marin Catholic and adjacent to Bacich, is quite popular with local children and offers a number of attractions for different age groups.

Within a short distance from most Greenbrae homes is Bon Air Shopping Center, which serves as the community’s “main street” and hub. Located along the south side of Sir Francis Drake Boulevard, Bon Air Center offers a variety of shops and services that meet the daily needs of the locals.

Greenbrae is also home to Marin General Hospital, the largest acute care hospital in Marin County; there are also a number of physicians, dentists and specialty health care centers located in Greenbrae.

With its close-knit community, pleasant micro-climate, great schools, easy access to hiking and biking paths, and short commute to the Golden Gate Bridge, Greenbrae is top on the list for many homebuyers.
